The RGB Lighting Installation Process
1. Start the Conversation
Fill out our lead form, and we will set up a call covering the space, your timeline, your color palette, and what the lighting needs to do at each point in the night.
2. On-Site Visit and Measurement
We visit the location, measure the installation area, and check ceiling height, wall surface, and available power. Surface matters more than people expect, since every finish reflects color differently.
3. Your Free Custom Quote
We build an itemized proposal covering fixtures, strip runs, power supply and wiring, labor, and programming, then review the costs with you. Nothing is ordered until you approve the scope.
4. Professional Installation
Our crew mounts the fixtures, runs the strip lengths, wires the system safely, and tests every connection before the space goes live. The finish is left clean and the hardware stays out of sight.
5. Programming, Support, and Maintenance
We build your scenes, walk your team through the controls, and stay available for adjustments. Loose connections and aging power supplies are the usual causes of color drift, and we handle both.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is RGB Lighting and How Does It Work?
RGB lighting uses red, green, and blue diodes together, creating color through additive color mixing. Adjusting each diode's intensity produces millions of blended colors, and all three at full output produce pure white light. That's the reverse of how pigments behave, where mixing moves toward black. It's also why one fixture covers an entire palette without a gel change. The technology comes in several formats — strips, bulbs, and standalone fixtures — and it has moved from a niche effect into standard practice across event and commercial installations.
What Is the Difference Between RGB and RGBW Fixtures?
RGB fixtures mix three diodes. RGBW adds a fourth dedicated white diode, producing a cleaner white light than the three primaries combined. That difference decides where each belongs. RGB fixtures are the better choice for accent and effect lighting, where saturated color is the point. RGBW handles everyday general illumination as well as effects, which makes it the standard specification when lighting people, since mixed white can shift on camera and photographers notice immediately.
What Power Supply Does an RGB LED Strip Need?
Low voltage RGB LED strips run on a dedicated power supply sized against the length of the run. Sizing it is a calculation, not a guess: total draw across the run sets the requirement, and the supply needs headroom above that maximum load rather than sitting at its limit. Running a supply at capacity is the most common cause of problems later. We size every supply with that margin built in and measure the installation area first so no strip length is wasted.
Why Do RGB Lights Flicker or Shift Color?
Two causes account for most of it. An overloaded power supply flickers under load, which is why headroom above maximum wattage matters. Loose connections produce inconsistent color across a run, with sections drifting off from the rest. Both are installation-quality problems rather than product failures. We test every connection during installation and size supplies correctly, which is why our systems hold color through a full night instead of degrading as the evening runs on.
Can RGB Lighting Be Controlled From a Phone?
Yes. Colors, brightness, scenes, and schedules run through a smartphone app, and systems can integrate with smart home and building automation platforms where that infrastructure exists. Addressable RGB gives individual control over each LED, which is what makes gradients, chases, and color transitions possible. Effects can also synchronize to music or to video content playing on screen. Once scenes are built, they run on their own.
Can RGB Lighting Be Installed Outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor installations need weather-rated fixtures built for continuous exposure, with heavier sealing where a fixture faces direct water or sits at ground level. Patios, courtyards, tents, gardens, and building exteriors all take RGB well. The constraint is usually power rather than product, since exterior spaces rarely have accessible circuits where the light needs to go. We plan that routing during the site visit.
Is RGB Lighting Energy Efficient?
RGB LED fixtures draw considerably less power than the incandescent products they replace and hold consistent output across a far longer service life. Each diode operates at low current, so even a substantial installation runs on modest total draw. Fewer replacement cycles over the years is where most of the operating savings comes from, particularly in commercial spaces where the lighting runs every night.
Is Event RGB Lighting the Same as Permanent Trim Lighting?
No. Event RGB lighting is installed for the event, programmed, and removed afterward. Permanent trim lighting is a fixed installation along a building's roofline that stays in place and runs on schedules. Different products, different purposes. If you want lighting that stays on the building, that is our trim lighting service.
