Bill Frey didn't set out to build a company. He set out to solve a problem — yours.
After graduating from Clemson University, Bill took a job as a lighting installer in Atlanta. It didn't take long before he recognized something the industry was missing: artistry. Most companies treated lighting as a technical task. Bill saw it as a creative calling — and realized clients deserved more.
He developed a proprietary design approach, earned a Master's in Marketing from Georgia State University, and founded Illuminating Design in 2004 on one belief: you deserve a higher standard of service and a more thoughtful approach to design.
